What is the A1 Language Level in German?
According to the CEFR, there are six German language proficiency levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2. The first level is called A1. Learners at this level should be able to use the most fundamental communication functions as well as simple everyday words.

Overview of German Language A1
The German A1 test is pretty easy to understand. You must receive 36 points (60%) to pass the exam, which has 60 points. It takes ten to fifteen days to display the exam results. The Goethe A1 certificate does not expire. Goethe-Institut Max Mueller Bhavan: Offers exams in Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Pune. The Goethe-Institut conducts the "Zertifikat Deutsch" exam, which is recognized by the German government and German universities.
Test structure of A1 Level:
Goethe A1 exam consists of 4 modules, or parts, of 15 points each, for a total of 60 points. You need to score a minimum of 36 points to pass the exam.

1. Listening
20 minutes, 15 points
There are three parts:
Part 1 (Dialog, played twice) – 6 points for 6 questions of Multiple-choice type.
Part 2 (Announcements, played once) – 4 points for 4 questions – True or False.
Part 3 (Monolog, played twice) – 5 points for 5 questions of Multiple-choice type.
2. Reading
25 min, 15 Points
There are three parts:
Part1 (Small letter) – 5 points for 5 statements- True or False
Part2 (Websites) – 5 points for 5 questions – ‘a’ or ‘b’
Part3 (Information posters) – 5 points for 5 questions of Multiple-choice type.
3. Writing
20 minutes, 15 points
There are 2 parts:
Part 1 (Form Filling): 5 points for 5 blanks in the form.
Part 2 (letter writing): 10 points for one email.
4. Speaking
15 minutes, 15 points
There are three parts: Speaking exam is done in the group of 3-4 students at the same time.
Part1 (Self Introduction) – 5 points
Part2 (Framing questions and answering) – 5 points
Part 3 (Framing requests) – 5 points
